HSE Advisor

 

Role:

We are looking for both a day shift and night shift HSE Advisor

  • Maintain an adequate working knowledge of current regulations, codes and industry practices, and acts as a resource to management
  • In the absence of the Field HSE Manager, coordinates implementation of the HSE plan and provides support to project management and construction line management.
  • Attend and monitors daily tool box meetings on rotational basis
  • Attend meetings to provide support for planned work activities when requested by an area manager, construction superintendent or foreman.
  • Conduct scheduled formal health and safety inspections, issues and circulates a report to itemize corrective action(s). Also conducts daily informal inspections and ensures that unsafe conditions are made compliant
  • Coordinate the implementation of the BBS observation process and provide BBS education for management personnel, line supervisors, observers and workers.
  • Maintains records of open/ closed corrective action items.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years experience in major engineering construction projects
  • Associate Membership of HSE related institution
  • NEEBOSH Certificate, Diploma or BSc Certificate or equivalent
  • NCSO/CRSP
  • Emergency Response Experience is considered an asset
  • Basic computer experience to Intermediate level
  • Good Working knowledge of Microsoft packages as a minimum
  • Good English language reading, writing and speaking
  • Individual must be self motivated
  • Understand the importance of timely completion of task
  • Must be authorized to legally work in Canada
